  2. Horsepower Gain: If you already know the boost, leave this blank to calculate the horsepower gain. Otherwise, enter the horsepower gain to find the required boost.

How To Calculate Boost HP

Example 1: Basic Calculator

To calculate the Horsepower Gain:

Use the formula:

HP=25×0.07=1.75 HP
 
So, the horsepower gain is 1.75 HP.
 
Example 2: Advanced Calculator
  • Boost (PSI): 10 PSI
  • Efficiency Factor (%): 85%
  • Base Horsepower (HP): 250 HP

To calculate the Total Horsepower Gain:

1. Convert the efficiency factor to a decimal:

      Efficiency=85%=0.85

2. Calculate the total horsepower:

      Total HP=250×(1+(10×0.85/100)) Total HP=250×(1+0.085) Total HP=250×1.085=271.25 

2. Calculate the horsepower gain:

      Horsepower Gain=271.25−250=21.25 HP

So, the total horsepower gain is 21.25 HP.
