Cut Length Calculator
Are you managing a workshop and in need to use cut length calculator? You are at right place, just enter the total length of material and the total number of pieces needed into the input fields of the calculator and get Cut Length by pressing calculate button.
How Does Cut Length Calculator Work
I have integrated two different calculation methods, basic and advance in this calculator, you need to select a mode that is suit for you.
Basic Calculator: This mode of this tool is ideal for simple calculations where you need to divide a total length of material into a certain number of pieces. You will need to input the total length of material and the number of pieces you need, and the calculator provides you with the cut length for each piece.
Advanced Calculator: For more complex scenarios involving material waste per cut, the Advanced mode is your goto option. Here, you input the total length of material, the length of each piece, and the waste per cut. The calculator then calculates the maximum number of pieces possible with the given parameters.
How to Use the Calculator
It is an easy to use calculator, read below, how you can enter use this too effortlessly.
Choose Your Mode: Switch a mode basic or advance depending on your requirements.
Input the Relevant Data: Fill in the required fields based on the mode you’ve selected. For the Basic mode, provide the total length of material and the number of pieces needed. In the Advanced mode, input the total length of material, the length of each piece, and the waste per cut.
Calculate: Click on the “Calculate” button, and the calculator will process the information and provide you with the results.
Reset: If needed, you can reset the calculator by clicking on the “Reset” button, clearing all fields for a fresh calculation.
How to Calculate Cut Length
Formula:
$\text{Cut Length (CL)} = \frac{\text{Total Length (L)}}{\text{Total Number of Pieces (P)}}$
Variables:
Variable Description

CL Cut Length
L Total Length of Material
P Total Number of Pieces
Calculation
Identify the Total Length (L): Let’s say you have 100 meters of material.
Identify the Total Number of Pieces (P): You need 10 pieces.
 Apply the Formula:

 $\text{CL} = \frac{100}{10}$
 $\text{CL} = 10$
So, each piece will be 10 meters long.
To calculate the Cut Length, you divide the Total Length of Material by the Total Number of Pieces Needed:
Calculation Examples
Following are two examples for basic and advance calculator, that will helps you easily understand hoe you can input data in required fields.
1. Basic Calculator Example
Parameter Value (in inches)

Total Length of Material 100
Total Number of Pieces Needed 5
Cut Length (CL) 20.00
2. Advanced Calculator Example
Parameter Value (in inches)

Total Length of Material 120
Length of Each Piece 10
Waste per Cut 2
Total Number of Pieces Possible 10
